Use Your HSA or FSA at Spektrum Glasses

Yes — Spektrum Glasses accepts HSA and FSA payments on eligible products. Pay with pre-tax dollars right at checkout — typically a 20-30% saving depending on your tax bracket* — with no receipts, no reimbursement forms, no hassle.

How it works

  1. Pick an eligible style. Any frame with built-in reading strength qualifies — see the HSA/FSA Eligible collection, or look for the HSA/FSA line on the product page.
  2. Select HSA/FSA at checkout. Check out as usual and choose the HSA/FSA payment option on the payment step.
  3. Pay with your HSA/FSA card. Use your HSA or FSA card like a debit card — or split payment with a regular credit card. You'll get an itemized receipt for your records.

What's eligible

Under IRS rules, over-the-counter reading glasses are a qualified medical expense — so every Spektrum frame with built-in reading strength (+0.50 to +3.00) is HSA/FSA eligible. That covers our dedicated readers (Pro, Elite, Arctic, Dynamic, Artist), the reading-strength options of ZENOX and VIENTO, and Kids Sharp Jr. Non-magnified blue light glasses generally aren't eligible without a Letter of Medical Necessity from your provider.

HSA & FSA questions, answered

Does Spektrum Glasses accept HSA and FSA cards?

Yes. Spektrum accepts HSA and FSA payments on eligible products. At checkout, choose the HSA/FSA payment option and pay with your HSA or FSA card — or split the purchase between your HSA/FSA card and a regular credit card.

Are blue light glasses covered by FSA or HSA?

Reading-strength blue light glasses are. Over-the-counter reading glasses count as vision correction — a qualified medical expense — so any Spektrum frame with built-in magnification (+0.50 to +3.00) is eligible. Blue light glasses without magnification generally are not covered under current IRS rules unless your plan accepts a Letter of Medical Necessity from your provider.

Which Spektrum products are HSA/FSA eligible?

Frames with built-in reading strength (+0.50 to +3.00): the Pro, Elite, Arctic, Dynamic and Artist readers, the reading-strength options of ZENOX and VIENTO, and Kids Sharp Jr. readers. Browse them all in our HSA/FSA Eligible collection.

What is an HSA or FSA?

Both are accounts that let you set aside money before tax for qualified health expenses. A Health Savings Account (HSA) belongs to you and rolls over year to year; a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is employer-sponsored and usually expires at year end. Purchases of eligible items with either account are made with pre-tax dollars.

How much can I save by paying with HSA/FSA funds?

Because you're spending pre-tax dollars, eligible purchases effectively cost 20-30% less for most people, depending on your federal and state tax bracket. Savings vary by plan and income; eligibility is determined by your plan administrator and is not guaranteed.

Do I need a prescription to use my HSA or FSA card?

No. Over-the-counter reading glasses are HSA/FSA eligible without a prescription — just pick your strength and check out.

How do I pay with my HSA or FSA card at checkout?

Add an eligible product to your cart, go to checkout, and select the HSA/FSA payment option. Enter your HSA or FSA card like a regular debit card. Eligible items are verified automatically at checkout, and you can split payment with a regular card.

Can I get reimbursed by my plan instead?

Usually, yes. If you'd rather pay with a regular card, save your itemized order confirmation and submit it to your plan administrator for reimbursement of eligible items. Reimbursement rules vary by plan.

What happens if I return an HSA/FSA purchase?

Our normal 90-day return policy applies, and refunds go back to the original payment method. If the purchase was reimbursed by your plan, check with your administrator about how they handle refunded expenses.

When do FSA funds expire?

Most FSA funds are use-it-or-lose-it and expire on December 31, though some plans offer a small carryover or a grace period into March. If you have a balance left late in the year, reading-strength glasses are an easy way to use it. HSA funds never expire.
